OUR MISSION
JUNTOS seeks to promote the humane treatment of all animals on Vieques by strengthening the human-animal bond through educational awareness, outreach, and direct community participation.
Our first big event, La Feria Y Show de Mascotas was a huge success raising over $ 1700. Children and adults, show dogs and even a turtle all had fun participating in various contests and winning prizes. Leslie Mason's video "Despierta Vieques" entertained and educated fair goers in the movie room while enjoying popcorn. The many educational booths passed out free literature and advice on proper care of our four legged friends. Children (perhaps aspiring future veterinarians) listened to the heart beat of a dog.
Special thanks to Claritza Navarro for her culinary skills and generous donation. (The food kiosk raised over $500.)
Thanks to DJ Paul for spinning the tunes, to Mark Martin, the MC, for entertaining us all, to the face painters for their artistic impressions.

JUNTOS PODEMOS HACER LA DIFERENCIA
IN THE WORKS :
Soon the island will be canvassed with posters of Viequense residents and their animals depicting the love and respect we all deserve.
JUNTOS Tee shirts have arrived and are available through Diva's Closet, Sol Creations, and of course here at JUNTOS headquarters.
All proceeds from sales will be used to further the educational programs and activities that we are planning.
JUNTOS is meeting regularly to create "Therapy dogs of Vieques". We will be registered with TDInc. and hope to be ready soon to start servicing hospitals, hospice, schools, special needs, etc. The Vieques community is very supportive of this idea. We are in need of funds to keep these projects going. Donations can be made to VHSR earmarked for JUNTOS. Anything you can give would be much appreciated.
